Dr. Matt Marino (University of Central Florida) focuses on technology-enhanced solutions to improve the accessibility of curricular materials for a diverse range of learners. Dr. Matthew Marino’s research, which has been supported in part by more than 17 million dollars in federal grants from IES, OSEP, and the NSF, focuses on the design and implementation of technology-enhanced STEM curricular materials. He develops strategic programs and partnerships to solve critical challenges in undergraduate and K-12 education. For example, he initiated the FOCUS Program, with funding from the National Science Foundation. His teams developed Project RISE, an interactive map designed to address challenges with special education teacher recruitment. He also developed educational video games with Filament Games, Brighten Learning, and PBS kids. Video games he co-developed with funding from IES and NSF projects are featured as exemplary science learning games by the U.S. Department of Education. He has presented this work nationally and internationally with more than 80 presentations across three continents.
